Yamaha to build new motorcycle test track
Yamaha have unveiled plans for a new multi-purpose, multi-million pound, motorcycle test track. The track will be built in Japan following a sharp increase in demand for new motorcycles and will have a bike racetrack, gradient and wet weather testing facilities.

The project is due to get underway in October 2009 and the company are aiming for a completion date in the middle of 2012. The site will comprise six different courses, including a high-speed racetrack, a gradient course and a floodable section so riders can test wet weather performance.
Finally, to offset the carbon footprint Yamaha will plant vegetation along the perimeter of the new facility - um.
