Motorcycle access to London's bus lanes?

Leading on from yesterday story - Boris Johnson is a fraction ahead of Ken Livingstone, in the race to win the mayor of London elections on the 1st May; which is likely to determine whether motorcycles will be allowed to use London’s bus lanes.

Although Boris Johnson is promising to open bus lane's to motorcycles Livingstone is steadfastly refusing - which is likely to influence decisions on bikes being allowed to use bus lanes elsewhere in the country as many local authorities are looking to the capital for guidance.

According to today’s Guardian/ICM poll, Johnson is first choice for 42% of Londoners, compared to 41% for Livingstone.
