Honda rider Pedrosa suffers broken hand scare

Wednesday 23rd January 2008

Dani Pedrosa has suffered a suspected broken hand after crashing his Repsol Honda in pre-season testing at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia on Tuesday.

The Spaniard, who was second to Casey Stoner in last year's MotoGP world championships, crashed twice; but still clocked the day's second fastest time.

Pedrosa has come up through the ranks with Honda, having won the 250cc world title in 2004 and 2005 before moving to MotoGP. The 22-year-old finished second on his MotoGP debut in Jerez in 2006, and went on to win two races that season, before finishing third overall.

He followed it up with a second-place finish in the 2007 championship.
