Yamaha announce new models for India
Friday 11th January 2008
Yamaha motorcycles have announced they will launch four new bike models in India in 2008.
Yamaha said it will launch two 125cc bikes in February, one 150cc bike in the middle of the year and another 150cc model around November. Yamaha sold 90,039 motorcycles in India in the nine months to December, out of a total of 4.4 million bikes sold in the world's second-largest bike market in the period.
Also this year Yamaha celebrates ten years of the R-Series - that's a decade of R1 / R6 supersport. When unleashed the very first YZF-R1 in 1998 the bike didn't just rewrite the rules for supersport performance, it tore them up and wrote its own. Since then the YZF-R1 and the YZF-R6 have kept evolving, always using the latest track tech. The latest R1 and R6 are the very essence of Yamaha supersport performance - they aren't just about big numbers, they are about the big rush you get every time you slingshot out of a turn, reveling in the vivid feedback from engine and chassis.
