Motorcycle Insurance Glossary - liability insurance

Liability insurance pays and renders service on behalf of an insured for loss arising out of their responsibility (due to negligence), to others imposed by law or assumed by contract.

In relation to motorcycle insurance policies, liability insurance costs far less than a fully comprehnsive package - because the full cover insurance must pay for both your bike and any other vehicle involved in a collision, as well as property damage and medical expenses due to injuries to you or another party.

There are different types of liability insurance, including general liability (similar to motorcycle liability insurance), which is specific to businesses. General liability protects a company from third party claims along with, employer's liability insurance and professional liability insurance.
